LIVEWIRE 2010
A couple of months after we were formed, we auditioned to play in our school's big annual music concert, Livewire. We got in and on 15th July played our first two songs to over 200 people in a great atmosphere. It was a massive event, with 2 hours of incredible music from the school.
YEAR 7 END OF YEAR ASSEMBLY
After playing at Livewire, we were asked to perform in our year 7's end of year assembly 2010. We were the last act to perform and it went very well, and was a good way to end the school year.
CHAPELFIELD MALL
As a part of Chapelfield's 5 year anniversary, The Hewett School chose their best musical acts to play outside Chapelfield Mall on 18th September. We played our two songs 'Free' and 'Flood of Tears' , plus a new one titled 'Heart Turned Black'. It was great, and meant loads of people outside of the school now knew of us, and enjoyed our music. After the event we were offered a chance to record our songs at school.
HEWETT AT HOME
The Hewett's annual fete in September 2010 was our fourth gig, and we performed our three songs to a small crowd in a laid-back atmosphere, alongside performances from DJ Mr Kettle and another year 8 band called Breaking Point.
CHRISTMAS LIVEWIRE 2010
The Hewett School hosted another brilliant Livewire, this time a christmas themed one, and we played 'Flood of Tears' and also a cover of Mariah Carey's 'All I want for Christmas is you' for a crowd of about 200 people. There were a lot of other great performances, and it was a really good night.
LIONWOOD JUNIOR SCHOOL FETE
The school organised this gig for The Solution, as Lionwood school were looking for bands to perform at the fete. The Solution played "Free". "Flood of Tears" and "The Traveller" and the songs were filmed and posted on youtube for anyone to watch.
LIVEWIRE 2011
The Solution's third Livewire, and the biggest one yet, as it was music teacher Mr Lawrence's last one. The band played three songs, "Pluck a Star", "The Traveller" and new song "Attacked by Feedback". The gig was three hours long, and one of the biggest yet.
HEWETT SCHOOL SKILLS DAY ASSEMBLY
The band played 5 songs to a year 7 group at the end of the school year, alongside other music acts who performed at the school's Livewire.
YEAR 8 END OF YEAR ASSEMBLY
One of our smaller gigs, we played 3 of our songs to our year group, and it went well. There were 2 or 3 other acts that performed too, and it was a fairly good atmosphere.
THE FORUM, NORWICH
As part of The Hewett School's exhibition at Norwich Forum, The Solution played 3 songs to a decent sized crowd outside The Forum. This was the first time our newest song "Summer with you" was performed, and with a twist.
